Back in the Good Ol' CO!

Seriously, there is no better place on earth than home! Particularly my home! Not only are my family and friends there, but every time I return to Colorado I am reminded of why I love it there! The weather, the mountains, the weather...

This was Tinley's first trip to Colorado, and it was perfect timing. It has been so hot and humid in Iowa that we have hardly been able to go outside with her. It was so nice and cool in Colorado, with no humidity! We got to enjoy lots of time outside with friends and family. Kyler was in heaven!

We got to spend time with family and friends, but it's never even close to enough time! We missed out on seeing some family and close friends because everyday was so jam packed. Every time we load up the car and head east my heart breaks a little! Until next time... =(

Growing Girls

We had Kyler's 15 month appointment yesterday! And Tinley's 2 month appointment almost a month ago! Clearly I can't find the time to post, so I will try to get through both girls' stats and news before one of them wakes up. Napping at the same time?? A girl could get used to this!

Kyler is getting so big! She has met all of her milestones for 15 months. We were a little worried about the talking, but she has really picked up a lot of new words these past 2 weeks. It is so fun to hear her little jabber and even more fun to hear real words! Maybe, just maybe, she will acknowledge the word "NO" soon? We shall see...

For now she says:
daddy (da eeee)
dance (dees)
night night (ni ni)
all done (ah duh)
shoes (sssss)
that (dat)
this (dis)
uh oh (grunt noises haha)

I think that is all she says now. She still won't really say Mommy or Mama anymore. Saddest. Thing. Ever.

She also knows how to put her laundry in the hamper, brush her teeth, clean up her toys and get ready for bed! She learns more everyday!

Kyler's 15 month stats:

Height: 32" (90th percentile)
Weight: 22lbs 5oz (65th percentile)
Head:  43.5 cm (6th percentile)

Tinley has grown like crazy since her 2 month appointment. She is a pretty good sleeper at night (most nights), but isn't the best napper- we are working on that!

Just yesterday Tinley really pushed up on her arms at tummy time! She also almost rolled over (on accident). She has started grabbing anything she can get her hands on (which is why I will be rocking the top knot in my hair until further notice- as if I needed another excuse to not do my hair).

Tinley's 2 month stats:

Height: 22.5" (55th percentile)
Weight: 11lb 7oz (56th percentile)
Head:  39 cm (75th percentile)

Tin still struggles with colic some evenings. There is no rhyme or reason as to why she is fine some nights, and miserable other nights. We just can't wait to see her 100% colic free! Hoping to see that day very soon!

Random Life Happenings

Kyler had her first dentist appointment last week. She did so good with the teeth brushing and polishing. Barely cried at all. She read books in the waiting room, and got a big girl sticker after her appointment.

There was a man mowing the lawn, who proved to be much more interesting than me taking her picture.
Tinley gets bigger and stronger everyday! We are really enjoying the evenings with her as she is less and less fussy everyday. She is becoming a pretty relaxed little lady (most of the time).

Her hair is amazing! I love love love it!

The girls are still working on this sister thing. Sometimes Kyler is really interested in Tinley. Other times she ignores her, or seems jealous of her. We will randomly catch some really sweet moments.

Let's file this one under one of the not-so-sweet moments?

These are the days...

Our sweet Tinley is just over 6 weeks old, and we are settling into our life as a family of four. I won't say it has been easy, but we couldn't imagine life without her!

She has grown and changed so much in these 6 weeks. I am quickly reminded of how fast they grow. It's crazy to think that just a year ago Kyler was this age. The days drag on, but the years fly by.

Speaking of Miss Kyler, she is still adjusting to life as a big sister. I think she sees Tinley as another toy to play with toss around. She is amused with her- especially when she is making noise. If I have Tinley asleep in another room and Kyler hears her grunting or making sleepy baby noises, she will go looking for her. This proves to be extremely disruptive for Tinley's naps, but equally cute. What can ya do?

Being a second time parent is much like the first. Even if you have done this before, each baby is different. And let's be honest- you forget most of the newborn phase due to lack of sleep anyway. The first couple weeks it all comes rushing back and smacks you in the face just as hard as it did the first time. I have learned that the key to parenting two children (especially a 13 month old and a 1 month old) is organization. On days I have planned ahead for the day (ie: filled sippy cups, cleaned bottles, packed diaper bag, cut Kyler's fruit, etc) the day runs much more smooth than on the days I try to wing it. If I am going to be honest, and I am, I still wing it most of the time. I am sure once Tinley is a bit more predictable I will be able to get my shit together... We can hope.

Tinley has been different from Ky in that she is pretty colicky in the late evening and into the night. Most nights she fusses from around 8pm to midnight or even 1 am. After that she sleeps well for the rest of the night/morning. On top of Tinley's madness, Kyler spent the last month cutting all 4 of her one year molars. They are finally through, and Tinley's fussy periods seem to be getting shorter (most days). Hopefully the Egglestons will soon be emerging from the baby fog! Hope to see you on the other side!

Oh, and Ky wears pigtails now. Pretty much the cutest thing you've ever seen, right?

Introducing Tinley Rae Eggleston

We finally have our new little girl!! Tinley was born May 30, 2014 at 6:28 pm. She was 7 pounds 11 ounces and 19 inches long, with a head full of beautiful black hair! She came fast and furious- let's hope that's not a preview of what's to come!

Although we are thrilled to have both of our girls home safe and sound, we are exhausted! Tinley parties at night, and Kyler is cutting molars. We. Don't. Sleep. They are pretty cute though, so that's ok.

It goes without saying that we couldn't love these girls anymore than we do! Our hearts and our home are full!
