BAM! We're pregnant!!

I woke up at 3 am on Tuesday, September 18th, and had to pee. This was the third night in a row that I woke up and had to pee. I decided to take a pregnancy test (for the 8th day in a row), and it looked like it would come out negative, so I went back to bed.
At 6 am I got up to get ready for work and saw the test I took with a very faint positive line. I woke Zach up and asked if he saw the line too. He mumbled, "it looks like a plus sign". Obviously he didn't get what that meant! Then, I frantically threw on pants and ran to the store to buy more tests. When I got home I took the digital test and it was positive. I bought a shirt that says, "Future Hawkeye" over a year ago in anticipation for this very event. I threw on the shirt and came out of the bathroom with the positive test. Zach's response? "Pound it!" Seems like more of a hugging moment, than a knuckle-up moment, but ok?

I have a confession to make... I am addicted to taking pregnancy tests!! This is not a cheap addiction. On the contrary, it is quite expensive! This test was taken 5 days after the first positive. I had taken a test every day since the first positive, waiting for the lines to get darker. Well, this one was much darker! I squealed with delight when I saw how fast the line appeared and how dark it was. By this point, I had two blood tests confirming the pregnancy, but I just wanted to see a darker line!

Please ignore my pile of dry cleaning in the background...

This picture was taken 4 days after my first positive. Which means I am about 5 weeks here. NO I AM NOT SHOWING, I AM DISGUSTINGLY BLOATED!! Seriously, what is that?????? I can't wait to have a real pregnant belly, and not one that looks like a beer gut! I keep reading that this is normal, but I just can't get used to it. I will take the bad with the good, and I know that this is all part of something really great!

Naps are my new best friend! People weren't lying when they warned me how tired I'd be. I spend most of my day at work trying not to think about being curled up in bed.

Other than these wonderful symptoms, I am a happy girl. I might be addicted to pregnancy tests, but I smile every time I see a positive. I let them sit in the bathroom and smile every time I walk in there. I can't wait to be out of the "danger zone", so I can tell everyone!!

BABY EGGLESTON... SPRING 2013!!! YAY!!!
